Tamiya MINI 4WD - The Hornet JR. - Dec 2026 Arrival

It’s been 40 years since Item 18002 The Hornet Jr (Type 1)was released to the delight of Mini 4WD fans! To celebrate this occasion, the Hornet Jr. is once again available but now the iconic buggy body is re-mounted on the compact, lightweight VZ chassis. This kit inherits The Hornet’s angular, slim form is inspired by the classic Tamiya 1-seater buggy from its 1/10 R/C kit and features a color scheme with yellow and orange lines on a black base. The shapes of dampers and headlights are also recreated, and a new size (22x18mm) driver figure is included; it is attached to the cockpit!

VZ Chassis
The VZ chassis is a compact and lightweight design that features reinforced designs for bumper, rear stay base and more ensuring that it has the durability and flexibility to withstand racing accidents. It is also a rather adaptable unit that lets its owner make numerous updates to the setup. Low friction 620 plastic bearings are molded in POM and maximize drive efficiency, while the chassis and A parts are molded in ABS.

• Includes a Type 130 motor. The model features a 4.2:1 gear ratio.
• Comes with a new size (22x18mm) driver figure. Santa Claus (Item 95678 & Item 95679), snake (Item 95679), horse (Item 95694) and sheep (Item 95721) figures can be installed.
• Two AA batteries are required (sold separately).
